In high school, David was well-liked with many friends, and an avid golfer. His passion for the armed forces and our nation’s military history was very evident in his yearbook graduation writeup with a warm reference to Vimy Ridge and “Go Army” as the last two words.

  1. David is the grandson of some very dear friends of mine. His death brought Afghanistan closer to home. Since then, three members of my family have served tours of duty there and all gratefully returned home safely.

    I think what you are doing is incredibly generous and loving. I am sure the families appreciate the gift of your compassion and recognition of their loss.

    • Thank you for your kind words Deborah. I’ve read so much about different wars. Perhaps to figure out in my mind why there is such insanity in the world. Why when there is not
      one iota of good in it, it just keeps going on…I have never found an answer except pride and greed.
