I took a picture of my husband and daughter many years ago and kept it with the hope that some day I would be able to paint it.
As the years passed, my dream finally started to take shape when I found the time and an artist that actually taught portraiture. I had no clue where to even start. I thank Joe Collins for taking me in and being so generous with his knowledge and letting me be me.
After about a year of traveling to Moncton for weekly lessons (with lots of dry spells in there) I finally decided to go on my own. This is one of my first serious paintings that I did in Joe’s studio. I know Joe thought I had bit off more than I could chew, but he let me go… I’m not very good at taking photos of my paintings
