Jen, Ruby & Charlotte

From a picture taken on a glorious day at the beach last summer. I really enjoyed watching Ruby & Charlotte discover the little crabs, the squishiness of the sand and new playmates. Taking the pictures was almost as much as painting them!  SOLD Oil, mainly done with  a knife.

My first daughter Amie

A picture of Amie (my first child) was taken when we were living  in Manhurst and working at my husbands brothers farm (years ago!) and I finally decided to paint it but transposed it to a beach. I like how it turned out! SOLD

Sam--My First grandson

Sam has a special place in my heart because I saw him being born and he was the first of the grandchildren. Even though I had 5 children myself, it still was the most amazing thing to behold! Painted in oils of course!

Jessie's Wedding

I decided to do this painting mainly because I liked the importance of the day, but I also wanted to try some long flowing clothing. In the photo, part of her wedding dress was clipped off, so I had to try to make it up. Their wedding took place in their apple orchard of their [...]

Best of Friends

I love portraits from the back!  Nothing is posed and it feels natural. This painting was made from one of the many pictures taken when Bess was back home visiting with us.  We were on a nastalgic day trip to Fundy Park where we went to familiar spots and explored the less know.  This was [...]

Golfing Buddies

This painting comes from of picture I took of Ron Sr. caddying for Ron Jr. during the US Amateur in 2003 at Oakmont on the 12th hole during the practice round. What a golf course that was.  You had to be there to believe the quickness of the greens!

Mary

Mary was on her way to university on the morning that I took a few pictures of her. I told her to put a hat on because she loves hats and she always looks so good in them and I wanted to paint something that portrayed her  personality. She put on a  home knit hat [...]

Amie in Elementary School

I made a portrait of all of my kids from school pictures, but Amie’s is the one I liked the result of the best.  Perhaps because it was the last of the 5! I was especially happy with the the skin tones and the teeth.  I also like her eyes and was thrilled with the [...]

Snow Fort

Amie, Jenny and Amie are looking out of a snow fort that we dug out together.

My Inspiration...

As the years passed, my dream finally started to take shape when I found the time and an artist that actually taught portraiture.
